NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Soccer Monarchs return to action Friday night when they host Elon at the ODU Soccer Complex at 8 p.m. The Lady Monarch soccer squad hosts NorthCarolina State at 6 p.m.
Elon is 1-2-1 on the season and are led by sophomore forward Chris Thomas whohas two goals. Gabe Latigue, Hunter Miller and James Carroll both have one goaleach. The Phoenix defeated Richmond, 4-0 and tied Jacksonville 1-1.
ODU leads the series with Elon, 4-0-1. The two teams tied 0-0 in 2008.
Sophomore Chris Harmon (Downingtown, PA.) is sixth in the CAA in points per game at 1.75 and tied for fourth in the league in goals with three. He also leads the CAA with three gamewinning goals.
Freshman Gideon Asante (Sunyani, Ghana)and sophomore Jordan LeBlanc (Haverford, PA.) each have one goal and one assist for three points.
Senior Evan Newton (Virginia Beach, VA.) has a 0.67 goals against average with six saves.
After Friday, ODU begins CAA play on Sept. 21 at home against William & Mary.
