ALEXANDRIA, VA-- ODU golfer Seth Norman and former Monarch Matthew Watson ('08) have advanced to the quarterfinals of the VSGA Amateur Championship. The eventis being held at the Belle Haven Country Club.
Norman shot 71-75 for 146 in the stroke play qualifying rounds, which tied himfor 14th, seven strokes behind Lanto Griffin of Blacksburg. Watson shot 73-72 for145.
On Thursday's match play, Norman defeated Evan Beck of Virginia Beach, 1 up, thenbeat Scott Shingler of Haymarket 1 up in the second round.
Watson defeated Lee Fisher of Altavista in the first round 6 and 5, then defeated Ben Lasso of Falls Church.
