NORFOLK, Va. - With a tough non-conference slate behind them, the Old Dominion lacrosse team will now set its site on a return trip to the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament as league play begins this weekend. The Lady Monarchs will travel to Drexel on Friday for a 4 p.m. game and then head further north for a 1 p.m. clash against No. 16 Hofstra.

Old Dominion (2-6) was upended by No. 3 North Carolina, 16-2, in its last outing. Senior Ashley Kellogg continues to lead ODU in goals scored with 23, while sophomore Lisa Bernardini has tallied a team-high 33 points on 21 goals and 12 assists.

Sophomore Sarah Geary leads the CAA and is 12th nationally with 10.0 saves per game, while senior Saratu Dodo ranks third in the league and 10th in the country with 2.13 caused turnovers per contest.

Drexel enters Friday's contest with an 8-2 record. Katie Lawson has a team-best 29 goals and goalkeeper Whitney Johnson boasts an 8.04 goals against average.

Hofstra enters the weekend with a 6-3 mark after dropping a hard-fought 14-13 double overtime contest against No. 11 Stanford last Wednesday. Senior midfielder and returning All-American Corrine Gandolfi leads the Pride with 29 goals, 10 assists and 41 draw controls.

Old Dominion defeated both Drexel and Hofstra at home in 2009. The Lady Monarchs topped the Dragons 14-7 and the Pride 14-9.
