NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team will wrap up the 2010 season Wednesday at 7 p.m. as the Lady Monarchs travel to No. 20 William & Mary. ODU will be looking to win consecutive games to close out the year on a strong note.
The Lady Monarchs (3-10, 1-4 CAA) won a thrilling double-overtime contest at George Mason on Sunday. Senior Saratu Dodo sent the game into overtime with a late goal and in the second overtime period, sophomore Rebecca Hartrum tallied the game-winner.
Senior Ashley Kellogg leads the Lady Monarchs with 39 goals on the year, while sophomore Lisa Bernardini ranks third in the conference with 3.9 points per game.
William & Mary (9-7, 3-3) has already clinched a spot in next week's conference tournament after splitting contests against George Mason and James Madison last weekend. As a team, W&M leads the nation with 13.0 caused turnovers per game.
Junior Grace Golden leads the Tribe with 42 goals and ranks sixth in the country with 2.25 caused turnovers per game. Classmate Ashley Holofcener ranks 10th nationally with 2.07 assists per game, while senior Mary Zulty leads the team and ranks sixth in the league with 3.44 points per game.
Old Dominion topped William & Mary 15-10 in 2007, but the Tribe have won each of the last two meetings between the squads.
