Old Dominion Senior Jessica Capra, playing her final season as a member of the Lady Monarchs women's lacrosse team, took time out of her busy day to answer a few questions about lacrosse and life.

How long have you been playing lacrosse?

12 years

Growing up did you ever see yourself playing college lacrosse? If not what did you envision yourself doing?

Never in my life. I didn't think I was going to play past middle school, I thought it was going to be another one of my phases. I saw myself doing something with horses instead.

So what brought you all the way from New Jersey to come to Old Dominion, besides lacrosse?

I wanted to be in the warm weather and the beach being so close doesn't hurt!

What is your most memorable moment as a Lady Monarch?

Making it to the CAA Tournament in 2009.

Last year you played attack mid-field and this season your playing defense mid-field, how are you handling the transition?

It makes me appreciate the complexity of the defense and how difficult it is at times. Defenders don't get the credit they deserve.

Last year, ODU had an incredible season (11 wins and a berth in the CAA Tournament). This season has been a bit tougher. What are the biggest differences from a year ago and how has your team been able to cope with some of the struggles.

We lost six starting seniors, five of them being defenders, so a lot of underclassman had to step it up. Our starting line-up is really young and it's unfortunately more like a rebuilding year. We try to keep our heads high and take each game one at a time and as a learning experience.

Now that your final season is drawing to a close, what are your plans after school?

Work and save up money to travel.

What is the one thing that you will miss the most about ODU lacrosse?

Head Coach Sue Stahl and her worldly advice. I have always had a close relationship with her and she has a lot of input on my life and I thank her for that.

What goes down on your bus rides?

Lisa Bernardini is always serenading us with her original freestyles and Heather Holt(Assistant Coach) loves to hear herself talk so those two are always competing for the mic!

What makes you different from your fellow teammates?

Every game I have to have a new pair of socks on. I don't know why, I've just been doing that since high school.
