Monarchs Travel To William & Mary For Three Game CAA Series

NORFOLK, VA- The ODU Baseball Monarchs return to action with a three-gameColonial Athletic Association series in Williamsburg, Va. against the Tribeof William and Mary.

Friday's game will begin at 7 p.m. with ODU scheduled to throw lefthanderKyle Hald while William and Mary plans to counter with righthander Matt Davenport.

Davenport (5-1) leads the CAA in ERA at 1.72, while Hald (6-2) is second at 2.04.Hald leads the CAA in strikeouts with 64 in 62 innings of work, while Davenportis second with 52 in 57 innings of work.

The Tribes Chris Forsten is teid for eighth in the CAA with 34 RBI and Derrick Osteen is tied for third in stolen bases with nine, and is second in the CAA inwalks with 30.

ODU's Donnie Corsner leads the CAA in walks with 32 in 35 games.He also leads ODU with 33 runs scored. Sophomore Kenny Stoneback leads the team in hitting at .366, while Jake McAloose is second at .327 and has 26 runs scored. McAloose along withJosh Wright, Donnie Corsner and Joe Velleggia share the ODU homerun lead with five each.

William and Mary leads the CAA in team fielding at .969, while ODu is third at .965.

The Monarchs lead the series, 72-44. Last year, the Monarchs took two of three fromthe Tribe at the Bud. In 2008, W&M swept the Monarchs in Williamsburg.

Saturday's game is scheduled for 4 p.m. with Sunday's game at 1 p.m.at Plumeri Park.
