Lady Monarchs Host No. 11 Towson Friday

NORFOLK, Va. - After a pair of road conference games, Old Dominion will open Colonial Athletic Association play at home this weekend at the Powhatan Sports Complex. The Lady Monarchs will battle No. 11 Towson Friday at 7 p.m. and Delaware on Sunday at 1 p.m.

ODU (2-8, 0-2) dropped a pair of league road games last week. Sophomore Lisa Bernardini currently ranks first in the CAA in points per game (4.3), fourth in assists per game (1.5) and sixth in goals per game (2.8).

Coming off a season-high 17 saves against Hofstra Sunday, goalkeeper Sarah Geary currently ranks first in the CAA and ninth in the nation with 11.0 saves per game.

Towson (8-3, 2-1) is coming off an 18-5 rout of George Mason on April 11. Hillary Fratzke leads the Tigers with 39 points on 34 goals and five assists.

Delaware has lost three of its last four to fall to 4-8 overall and 1-2 in league play. The Blue Hens are paced by Ali Libertini's 25 points.

Old Dominion won at Towson last year, 10-7, and leads the all-time series against the Tigers, 5-3. Delaware beat ODU in both the regular season and post-season in 2009 and leads the series with the Lady Monarchs, 10-9.
