RICHMOND, Va. -- Swimmers sophomore Erla Haraldsdottir (Njardvik, Iceland) earned five All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) honors and two-time 100 back champion April Barrientos (Va. Beach, Va.) was named all-conference in three events it was announced on Wednesday.

Haraldsdottir picked up all-conference honors in the 100 and 200 breast, 200 individual medley, and as a member of the 200 and 400 medley relay squads.

Haraldsdottir's individual events saw the Lady Monarch claim three NCAA "B" cut times and three ODU records. The 200 IM had Haraldsdottir set a new ODU record. Haraldsdottir, who had originally reset the Lady Monarch benchmark in the event last season, took third place and captured a NCAA "B" cut time by hitting the wall in 2:01.30. She claimed second place in the 100 breast swimming to a "B" cut time and ODU record of 1:01.32. The 200 breast saw Haraldsdottir earn her third NCAA "B" cut time of the championships with her time of 2:13.46. Her performance also gave her another ODU record.

Barrientos went on to capture her second straight 100 back title at the conference championship in late February. In the prelims, Barrientos set a new CAA and ODU record with a time of 54.75, while she took the top spot with a time of 54.96 and a NCAA "B" cut time in the finals.

The record setting 200 and 400 medley relay teams also earned All-CAA accolades for Barrientos, Haraldsdottir, senior Agata Nowak (Gorzow, Poland), and sophomore Emma Forbes (Peekskill, N.Y.). The 200 medley saw the Lady Monarchs post not only a NCAA "B" cut time by hitting the wall in a time of 1:42.19, but also collect the second fastest time in the Lady Monarch record books in their second place finish at the championships. The 400 medley relay had the squad put together a third place finish with a time of 3:43.41 for a new ODU record.

The Old Dominion women's swimming and diving team finished sixth at the 2010 CAA Swimming & Diving Championships and finished the season with a 5-5 mark.
