NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Baseball Monarchs host their crosstown rival Norfolk StateTuesday night at 6 p.m. in the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.
The Spartans, 11-12-1 are led in hitting by Chris Joyce with a .394 average along with a team best 20 runs batted in. John Lynch i second at .385 along with 14 RBI.Brandon Hairston leads the team in homers with six and tied with Chris Joyce in doubles with 10.
On the mound, Jason Barker and Chase Davenport are both 3-2. Barker has a 3.93ERA. NSU defeated the Monarchs back on March 23rd, 12-5 at NSU.
ODU (15-21) returns to action after taking two of three games from George Mason over the weekend.
Kenny Stoneback continues to lead the team in hitting at .355, while Jake McAlooseis second at .330. McAloose is tied with Donnie Corsner and Joe Velleggia in homeruns with five. Corsner leads the team in runs scored with 30, while Chris Busshas a team best 12 doubles and two triples.
ODU travels to William and Mary this weekend beginning Friday night.
