NORFOLK, Va. -- Junior Tobias Fanselow (Essen, Germany) was named the CAA Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Week and was also a part of the tandem earning CAA Men's Doubles Team of the Week for the week ending on February 21.
Fanselow shared the weekly honor with Georgia State freshman Victor Valente, both earning their first conference honors of the year. The ODU junior pulled out a three-set (6-1, 3-6, 6-2) victory over Temple's Filip Rams and knocked off 75th ranked Keziel Juneau (William & Mary), 6-2, 6-3, for a pair of victories at No. 1 singles. The wins extended Fanselow's winning streak to 14 in singles action.
He also paired with Benjamin Chomette (St. Didier en Velay, France) to earn the CAA Doubles Team of the Week as well. The ODU tandem went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles, beating Temple's Filip and Kacper Rams, 8-2, before edging William & Mary's 19th ranked duo of Juneau and Sebastien Vidal, 8-6.
The Old Dominion men's team is 13-6 overall this season and will take on Binghamton this Sunday, March 21 at 10:00 a.m. The match will be on the outdoor courts of the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
