PINEHURST, NC-- ODU junior Sam Wall (Essex, England) shot 71 in the first round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate and is tied for fifth, just three strokes off the lead. As a team, ODU is eighth after a score of 299.
Wall had four birdies on the day, while three other Monarchs, Eric Onesi (Bear, DE.), Seth Norman (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Neil Henderson (North Berwick, England) shot first round scores of 76.
Penn State leads the event by one strok over Eastern Kentucky. Kevin Foley, ranked44th nationally is the individual leader with a 68.
