FAIRFAX, Va. -- The first place Lady Monarchs (12-10, 10-2 CAA) travel to Fairfax this Sunday to face off against the last place George Mason Patriots (8-15, 1-11 CAA) in women's basketball action. Tip is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Patriot Center in a game that will be televised live by Comcast SportsNet.

ODU is 6-2 all-time in games played on Valentine's Day, including a 37-point victory over Northeastern just two years ago. Earlier this season, ODU dropped the Patriots in a 30-point win at home, the largest margin of victory for the Lady Monarchs this season. Old Dominion won, 79-49, behind three players in double figures; junior Shadasia Green led the way, scoring 16 points in the win.

ODU junior Jasmine Parker has been the offensive and defensive leader for the Lady Monarchs during the conference season, averaging 13 points per game. When she's not scoring, Parker gets it done elsewhere, as she did in ODU's last game against Delaware. Parker posted a career-high nine asissts and six steals in the game to help ODU defeat the Blue Hens by two and take over sole possession of first place in the league.

George Mason started the season a school-record 7-0 at home and all eight of their victories this season have come at home. The Patriots were 7-3 early, they have lost 12 of their last 13 games, including three straight at home, and have slipped to just 1-11 in the CAA.

Mason is led by junior Brittany Poindexter, who nearly posted a double-double against Old Dominion earlier this season. Poindexter and teammate Amber Easter are the only Patriots averaging double figures this season, while junior center Angelee LaTouche is the team leader in rebounding.

Today's Game
All-Time Series - ODU bounced back earlier this season against the Patriots after suffering the first loss in the all-time series last season. ODU now holds a 45-1 advantage in the series, dating back to the 1975 season. Mason won the game in Fairfax last season, ending the ODU 44-game winning streak against the Patriots.

About the Patriots - George Mason opened the season 7-3, but has seen that solid start disappear with the start of the CAA season. The Patriots have lost 12 of their last 13 games, including a 1-11 mark in league play. Mason started the season 8-1 in their home building, but have lost three straight, including a pair of sub-40 point performances.

The CAA's last place team will be facing off the first place Lady Monarchs on Sunday in each team's first television game of the season. ODU will be looking to avenge the loss to the Patriots in Fairfax last season and will be looking for the season sweep of Mason.

The Patriots are led by Brittany Poindexter and Amber Easter this season. Poindexter is averaging over 12 points a game and is also hauling in nearly five rebounds per contest while Easter is averaging 10.5 points per game and has pulled down a team-high 142 rebounds this season.

Against Old Dominion earlier this season, Poindexter finished just one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing nine boards. Angelee LaTouche, the Patriots top rebounder at 6.4 per game, hauled in 10 against the Lady Monarchs.

Mason ranks second in the league in blocked shots per game, averaging 4.0 per game behind Hofstra's 5.1 per. The Patriots are shooting just 37.1% from the field as a team, though, ranking them second to last in the conference.
