EVANSTON, Ill. -- The 53rd ranked Lady Monarchs (4-2) earned a 5-2 victory against #50 Denver today at the ITA National Indoor Team Championships. Nadine Fahoum and Joanna Dobrowolska won in both singles and doubles action for the Lady Monarchs.
Fahoum won at No. 1 singles, improving to 6-0 in dual matches this year. The Lady Monarch junior defeated Denver's Ute Schnoy after dropping the first set. She won 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7). She teamed with Dobrowolska at No. 1 doubles for the win over Julia Bauregger and Sophia Bergner. The ODU tandem won 8-5 to seal the doubles point after Denver defaulted at No. 3 doubles.
Dobrowolska's win at No. 2 singles came against Bauregger in straight sets, winning 6-4, 6-1. Old Dominion had won the match with her win, as Denver also defaulted at No. 6 singles. However, Diana Ivanova added another ODU point with a win at No. 4 singles, over Lorinda Boothman, 6-2, 6-1.
