NORFOLK, Va. -- The Lady Monarchs (1-0) cruised to a season-opening victory against Norfolk State today, winning a 7-0 dual against the Spartans. Three Lady Monarchs did not give up a game in singles.
Nadine Fahoum, ranked 21st in the nation in singles, won her match at #1 singles against Norfolk State's Brittany Foster, 6-0, 6-0. She also paired with Joanna Dobrowolska for the 8-1 victory at #1 doubles.
Dobrowolska also won her match at #2 singles, 6-0, 6-0 against Jenny Astbury and was joined by rookie Juliana Pires as the Lady Monarchs not giving up a game in today's match.
The Lady Monarchs won every match in singles and doubles against Norfolk State to win their spring debut.
