NORFOLK, Va. -- ODU women's hoops will welcome in the George Mason Patriots (7-7, 0-3 CAA) Thursday night at the Ted Constant Convocation Center, with tip set for 7:00 p.m. The Lady Monarchs host the Patriots after falling to George Mason last season, 63-57, for the first time in the all-time series.

Old Dominion is coming off a big win over CAA Preseason favorites Drexel University, defeating the Dragons on Sunday, 69-59. Despite not hitting a field goal in the final 10:10, ODU was extremely efficient from the free-throw line and forced the Dragons to take some tough shots down the stretch for the victory.

In the game, junior Jasmine Parker led the way, scoring 22 points including a 12-for-12 night from the free-throw line, a new Constant Center record. Rookie Jackie Cook led a second-half charge, scoring 10 points in just 2:20 for ODU, helping the Lady Monarchs mount a 12-point lead.

ODU senior Jessica Canady has returned to conference play with a vengeance, with a double-double at Northeastern and then falling just one point shy of another against Drexel. She is averaging 10 points and 9 rebounds per game in CAA action so far this season.

George Mason has been led by junior Brittany Poindexter and rookie Amber Easter. Poindexter is averaging nearly 13 points per game for the Patriots this season.

Tip is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Constant Center in Norfolk, Va.

Today's Game:
All-Time Series - ODU is 44-1 all-time against George Mason, but the Patriots earned their only win in the series last year. GMU defeated the Lady Monarchs, 63-57, to earn the first ever victory, snapping a 44-game winning streak against the Patriots.

About the Patriots - George Mason has been dominant at home this season, going 7-1 at the Patriot Center, but the Patriots have struggled on the road, going 0-6 so far, including three of the last four contests. GMU has suffered conference losses at Towson, vs. Delaware at home and then at James Madison, by an average of nearly 12 points per game.

Junior Brittany Poindexter is leading the way with rookie Amber Easter, as Poindexter is scoring 12.9 points per game while Easter is at 11.0. Easter is also leading the team on the glass, with 6.8 rebounds per game. She is also playing a team-high 31.2 minutes per game in her first season in Fairfax.

As a team, the Patriots are shooting .390 from the field and averaging 57.1 points per game. Mason is outscoring opponents in the first half this season while eight different players have started for head coach Jeri Porter.

Milestone March
Not only are the Lady Monarchs just five wins shy of 100 in the Constant Center, but the Old Dominion women's basketball program is just six wins away from 900. Old Dominion women's basketball boasts an all-time record of 894-309 (.743) in over 40 years of play. There are only two programs in the history of women's basketball with 900 wins. Head Coach Wendy Larry is also approaching yet another milestone, just 27 wins shy of her 600th.

Still Toughest Schedule in the CAA
Old Dominion's schedule is the toughest in the CAA, and among the strongest in the country. After closing out the non-conference schedule, Old Dominion had the fifth toughest schedule in the nation. Heading into today's game, ODU's schedule was listed as the 11th strongest and the Lady Monarchs RPI is also listed as #104 after the first 13 games. Both numbers come from rpiratings.com's weekly report.
