Sophomore center Tia Lewis (Poulan, Ga.) joined Green and Canady as the third Lady Monarch in double figures, with ten. Lewis had eight points in the second half as she finished 4-of-6 from the field.
Rookie point guard Carolann Cloutier (Montreal, Quebec) had impressive numbers, hauling in five rebounds and also assisting on eight buckets in the game. Newcomers Kquanise Byrd (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Jackie Cook (Hinckley, Ohio) also had solid games, adding four assists while Cook also poured in eight points. Byrd added two thefts to go along with her four helpers.
Mairi Buchan (Stirlingshire, Scotland) added a team-high six boards and three steals in the game, while knocking down seven points.
Shaw was led by Saundra Proctor, scoring 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting including six three-pointers. She had six rebounds and two blocks as well. Tanisha McGaughey finished just one rebound shy of a double-double, with 14 points and nine boards.
The game wraps up the preseason for Old Dominion, as the Lady Monarchs play host to second-ranked Stanford on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ODU will be looking to "PACK THE HOUSE" as a part of an NCAA challenge to try and sell out the Ted.
