Check out Lady Monarch junior Nadine Fahoum's latest blog as she wraps up play at the 2009 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. Teammate Joanna Dobrowolska (Asia) and assistant coach Nataly Cahana-Fleishman join Fahoum on the road in Pacific Palisades, California, as the Lady Monarchs play at the beautiful Riviera Country Club. Today's blog is set after a long day of matches, including two in doubles action.
Hello everyone,
Unfortunately my run at the All-American Tournament has come to an end. We started off with doubles this morning against Stanford and we won 8-6. We both played very well. Asia played very good today; she stepped up after our loss yesterday and made it happen.
Right after our doubles match I went on court to play singles. I didn't perform as well as I should have, or as well as I expected from myself. My opponent was a strong player, and took advantage of my mistakes, which made it even harder for me to get back into the game.
After losing in singles I had to try and recoop and get ready for another doubles match. In short, we did not play our best tennis and lost 8-4.
I learned a lot from this experience. As much as it is disappointing to lose at this point, I've learned a lot and will take it to my next tournament, in two weeks time.
I appreciate all of you that followed my blog, and hope you will continue to support us. GO MONARCHS!!!!
