MONARCH OF THE WEEK: Nadine Fahoum Brings Home Singles Title

NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion University women's tennis player Nadine Fahoum (Haifa, Israel) earns Player of the Week honors after winning the Wake Forest Collegiate Invitational singles title in the top flight of action. Fahoum went 4-0 in singles action, winning each match in straight sets.

The 116th ranked Lady Monarch tennis player defeated players from Davidson, Duke, Wake Forest and Illinois en route to the title, including a 6-4, 6-1 victory over the Illini's Rachael White in the finals. She also defeated Martina Pavalec (WFU) in the semifinals, who had just upset the 19th ranked player in the nation.

She has started the year off with a 6-0 record, including a win over the 83rd ranked player in the country, NC State's Berkeley Brock, at the UVA Fall Invite.

Fahoum and the rest of the Lady Monarchs will be in action this weekend as they host the Old Dominion Collegiate Invitational.
