CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Junior Tobias Fanselow and rookie Benjamin Chomette paired up to lead ODU at the UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational today, posting two victories. The ODU tandem defeated UVa's Fang and Dell'Orto before dropping VCU's Thibault and Johanssen. They advance to play Ball State's second seeded Meredith/Joli pairing in semifinal action.
The Monarchs won an 8-6 match against the Cavaliers and then were stretched to a 9-8 (4) win over Thibault and Johanssen.
In singles action, ODU went 1-2 with Fanselow and Krzysztof Muzalewski falling in the first round to their opponents, but Chomette posting a 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-4 win against UVa's Brian Fang in B singles. He will face Duke's Jared Pinsky in quarterfinal action tomorrow.
