Old Dominion Field Hockey Stays Put at No. 15 in Latest NFHCA Poll

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion field hockey team remained No. 15 in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, released Tuesday. The Lady Monarchs received 326 total points after going 1-1 against a pair of Top 10 teams last week.

Additionally, the Lady Monarchs place ninth in this week's womensfieldhockey.com poll.

Old Dominion (3-5) split a pair of matches on Tobacco Road this past weekend, falling to No. 2 North Carolina 4-0 before upending 10th-ranked Duke 3-2 in overtime. Senior midfielder Katie Ueberroth, the current CAA Co-Player of the Week, recorded her first-career hat trick as Old Dominion knocked off Duke. The senior scored a goal in each half that gave the Lady Monarchs the lead before converting the game-winner in the eighth minute of overtime.

Senior goalkeeper Kelly Driscoll tied her career-high in saves with 14 against Duke and stopped 13 in the loss to the Tar Heels. The 27 total saves are the most of Driscoll's career in a two-game span.

Other CAA schools joining ODU in the rankings are Drexel (11) and James Madison (14). Delaware, Northeastern and VCU also received votes in the poll. The next poll will be released on September 29.

Old Dominion will open up conference play on Friday when it hosts Northeastern at the Powhatan Sports Complex. The action is set to being at 5 p.m.
