WILMINGTON, NC-- Three Old Dominion University baseball Monarchs have been selected to play in The 2009 Coastal Plain Summer League All-Star Game, and another in theProspect Collegiate Baseball League.

Rising seniors Jake McAloose (Virginia Beach, VA.), Gerard Hall (Washington, DC.) and rising junior Donnie Corsner (Virginia Beach,VA.) will play inthe game scheduled for Tuesday, July 21st at Buck Hardee Field in Wilmington, NC., at 7:05 p.m.

McAloose will also compete in the Home run hitting contest, scheduled for Monday, July 20th inWilmington, NC.

Rising sophomore Kenny Stoneback (Colonial Heights, VA.) was selected to play inthe Prostpect Collegiate Baseball League All-Star (Eastern Division) game as a starting secondbaseman. Stoneback is currently hitting .303 through 33 games for the Slippery Rock Sliders.He ranks sixth in the league in hitting. Stoneback has three doubles and 14 RBI. During the collegiate season, he played the outfield for the Monarchs.

Donnie Corsner will be the starting catcher the national division. Through 37 games, he is hitting .264 with one homer, 23 RBI and nine doubles for the Outer Banks Dare Devils. During the college season, Corsner played the outfield for ODU.

Gerard Hall is a reserve second baseman for the Edenton Steamers. Through 41 games, he is hitting .294 with 10 doubles, and 19 RBI. Hall has 17 stolen bases in 19 attempts. During the college season, Hall was a second team All-CAA selection at shortstop.

Jake McAloose will be a reserve shortstop for the American Division. Through 33 games with the Peninsula Pilots, he is hitting .233 with four homers and 20 RBI he has also scored 24 runs. During the college season, McAloose was named first team All-CAA and All-State as well as second team ABCA All-Region at thirdbase.

The Coastal Plain League is a collegiate summer league, featuring top-notched college players fromfrom throughout the nation. The CPL features 14 teams across North and South Carolina, and Virginia.Players were selected by the 14 head coaches and one media representative for each club.
