Monarchs Move Up to Fourth on Day Two of ICSA Nationals

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The Old Dominion University sailing team moved up two slots at the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA)/Gill Co-Ed Dinghy National Championships today, up to fourth place overall. ODU totaled 204 points through two days and with four races left, are in good position to make a move for a placing finish.

ODU was led by the A division team on day two, with 29 points in six total races. Junior skipper Kyle Rogachenko sailed with Wilson Stout and senior crew Jaclyn Finney and is in third place among the A division fleet. In the 14 total races compelted, Rogachenko has led the A division boat to two wins and ten top ten efforts.

In B division, senior skipper Mikey Brown sailed with Michael Komar and Alissa Ayres on day two, finishing with 113 points after 14 races. The ODU B division boat also had a great day, with Brown sailing to a win and a second place finish en route to a 43-point second day. Over both days, Brown has totaled 11 top ten finishes.

Together, the ODU team has posted 204 total points and are in fourth place headed into the final day of racing. The fleet will attempt to get four races in each division completed on Wednesday, for a full 18-race regatta. Old Dominion is just 20 points back of Georgetown for third place while St. Mary's College and Yale have battled for the lead, with 130 and 137 total points respectively.
