NORFOLK, Va. -- The ODU Lady Monarchs (7-3, 1-1) host the Patriots of George Mason University (5-5, 1-1) in CAA women's lacrosse action tomorrow at 4:00 pm. Old Dominion is kicking off a season-ending stretch of games, with four of the last five games at home. The Lady Monarchs lead the all-time series 12-8 and are undefeated at homethis season.
About the Lady Monarchs:
Rookie goalkeeper Sarah Geary was named National Rookie of the Week for her efforts last week, including earning the first ODU win over the University of Virginia. The Cavaliers were ranked ninth in the nation when Geary saved 12 and allowed just ten goals at home for the win. She also saved a career-high 19 against Towson in the Lady Monarchs first CAA win since 2007.
Offensively, senior Kelly Kimener is having a career year to lead Old Dominion. She has 30 goals and nine assists so far this year, while junior Ashley Kellogg is close behind with 27 goals and five assists. Senior Jessica Noone and freshman Lisa Bernardini also have scored over 20 points so far this season.
On defense, a quartet of seniors have led the Lady Monarchs including team co-captain Lindsey Belle. She ranks 16th in the nation in caused turnovers per game, with two per contest.
About George Mason:
Madalyn Jamison leads the way offensively, with 39 points on 21 goals and 18 points, while five other Patriots have scored at least 17 points in ten games so far this season.
In goal, Sara Longobucco has played all 612 minutes for Mason, with an 11.67 goals against average and 96 saves for a .447 save percentage.
