NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion field hockey team, winners of a record nine NCAA Championships, announced the signing of four student-athletes to play for the Lady Monarchs beginning in the Fall of 2009. Coming to Norfolk this fall are: Danielle Clutter (Chambersburg, Pa.), Julie Hodge (Downingtown, Pa.), Christy Longacre (Bethlehem, Pa.), and Kimberly Oakes (West Chester, Pa.).

The Old Dominion field hockey team will kick off the 2009 season with a four-game homestand on Friday, August 28th with Penn State. The Lady Monarchs will take on nine opponents ranked in last year's final National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll and face eight NCAA Tournament participants. The slate also features 11 contests on the home turf of the Powhatan Sports Complex and home-and-away series with national champion Maryland, as well as perennial powerhouses North Carolina and Duke.
