EDGEWOOD, R.I. -- The Monarchs finished 16th at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy regatta. Junior Alan Alkins skippered the B division boat to a 13th place effort, while senior Michael Brown was leading the A division boat to a 16th place finish.
Alkins sailed with rookie Miles Martschink and sophomore Ashley Pellerito in B division, totaling 114 points in the eleven completed races. The junior skipper led ODU to five top ten finishes in B division, including a team-high third place finish.
Brown sailed with classmate Alissa Ayres in A division and managed just one top ten finish. The two posted 162 points on the weekend.
