CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Despite little to no wind, the College of Charleston Women's Intersectional completed 13 races and found ODU in fifth place at the conclusion, with a solid effort from a pair of experienced skippers.
Sophomore Morgan Wilson led the way for the Lady Monarchs, sailing with rookie Arianna Baker in B division. The pair finished in third place with 65 total points, just 12 back of a second place Georgetown team. Wilson stormed up the leaderboard late, with a pair of wins, a second and a third place finish in the last four races. She and Baker finished outside the top ten just once and had seven top five efforts.
In A division, junior Katrina Williams sailed to one victory in the final race of the weekend and added nine more top ten finishes. The ODU skipper sailed with Rachael Jacobs and Ashley Brusso for the 107 total points and the ninth place finish in A division.
The two boats combined for 172 total points in 13 completed races, for fifth place at the Intersectional. Old Dominion edged out Connecticut College by 11 points for fifth.
