Charleston Women's Intersectional College of Charleston March 7-8, 2009 FINAL RESULTSREGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:Saturday: This morning the sailors were greeted with sunny skies and warmtemperatures, but very little wind. We postponed ashore until 11:30 when theseabreeze started to fill in from the SSE. The first few races were sailed in 5-8knots from the SSE with a very weak flood current. The breeze increased to 10-15and shifted right to SSW, flood current increased. We completed 8A and 6B races forthe day, all courses were W4 or W5 with downwind gates. One protest was filed andwill be heard tomorrow.

Sunday: This morning was much the same as yesterday. The light morning westerlydied before we were able to leave the dock, so we postponed ashore. Around 11 thebreeze shifted to the south and began to fill in. B division started the day andsailed their first race (7B) in a very light southerly with strong ebb (southerly)current, making for some long downwind legs. The wind was more solid for 8B and \steadily increased to 12-15 by the final races. The current switch to full flood bythe end of the day, making for some dynamic racing. 13 races were completed in eachdivision, all courses were W3, W4 and W5. One protest was filed and was disallowed.

Thanks to all of the Cougars for running a great event and the coaches who helpedout with repairs and protest hearings. Congrats to Charleston 1.
