RICHMOND, VA- The University of Richmond Defeated Old Dominion, 12-7Wednesday afternoon at Pitt Field. The loss ended ODU's four-game winning streak.
Donnie Corsner had two hits and Josh Wright had three hits.
ODU took a 2-0 lead on back-to-back RBI singles fromDonnie Corsner and Josh Wright.
In the bottom of third, Richmond came back with a two run single by Adam McConnell and anRBI double by Cameron Brown. In the fourth, McConnell singled home Victor Crogliofor a 6-2 Spider lead.
In the ODU fifth Josh Wright singled home Jake McAloose.The Monarchs tied the game in the sixth on a two-run single byby Donnie Corsner, then Josh Wright singled home Gerard Hall to tie the game at 6-6.
Richmond re-took the lead in the seventh when Billy Barber hit a two-run homer withMerganthaler aboard. Barber then hit a three-run homer in the eighth. He knocked infive runs on the day for the Spiders.
ODU got within a run in the eighth after Chris Buss singled home Josh Wright.
Besides Corsner and Josh Wright each knocking in three runs, Chris Buss, EdgarHernandez and Gerard Hall each had two hits for ODU. Hernander and Hall bothscored twice, while Josh Wright stole three bases.
ODU hosts William and Mary in a three-game CAA series beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
