April 21, 2009

NORFOLK, Va. -- Junior attacker Ashley Kellogg (Downington, Pa./Downington West) was named to the WomensLacrosse.com National Honor Roll for a consecutive week for her performace in a pair of Lady Monarch victories. Kellogg had eight points on seven goals and an assist as ODU clinched a trip to the 2009 CAA Tournament.

The Lady Monarch junior had three goals and an assist as ODU cruised past #20 Hofstra in a 14-9 victory and then added four goals, including the gamewinner, against Drexel.

Against the Pride, Kellogg's first two goals and her assist led ODU to a 7-2 lead early in the first half. She added a third goal in the second half on a free-position shot. In the Drexel game, Kellogg again was a part of an early game run, scoring three of ODU's first six goals, as the Lady Monarchs went up 7-1 on the Dragons. She would add an unassisted goal with 24:20 remaining that would eventually be the game winning tally.

Her career year continues as she has doubled her point total from the previous two seasons with this season alone. She leads the team with 42 goals and has added seven helpers for 49 points this season.

WomensLacrosse.com also named William & Mary's Grace Golden to the National Honor Roll for a consecutive week. The website also lists ODU as 19th in the country. Old Dominion is currently 17th according to Inside Lacrosse media poll and 18th according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll.

The Lady Monarchs will take on William & Mary in the regular season finale this Thursday, April 23 at 7:00 pm. Admission is $5 for the Annual Scholarship Game and it will also be Senior Night.
