NORFOLK, VA-- Old Dominion University freshman righthander/designated hitterBrett Harris (Chesapeake, VA.) Hickory High School has been named CAA Rookie of theWeek.
Harris pitched his CAA leading third complete game in ODU's 13-5 win over HofstraFriday night. He is now 4-3 overall with a 4.55 ERA.
At the plate, Harris hit .524 (11-21) for the week with six runs scored, and sevenruns batted in. His slugging percentage was .619 for the week. He is now secondon the team in hitting at .343.
Harris is ODU's second CAA Rookie of the Week selection. Firstbaseman Josh Wrightwas selected on April 6th.
The Monarchs host the Keydets of VMI Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. The Monarchs lost atVMI earlier in the season, 4-3 in 11 innings. ODU has won five of their last sixgames.
