NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Lady Monarch sailors took home a tenth place finish at the Emily Wick/Sloop Shrew regatta this weekend with 318 total points. Junior skipper Katrina Williams sailed all 16 races in A division and led the team to an 11th place effort with crew Rachael Jacobs and Ashley Brusso.
Williams, Jacobs and Brusso finished with 154 points in A division, just four back of a top ten finish. Williams finished among the top ten boats in half of the 17 completed races.
In B division, sophomore Morgan Wilson and freshman Arianna Baker sailed in all 16 races and finished 12th with 164 points. The tandem finished with seven top ten efforts and a team-high third place finish in the fourth race of the event.
The two boats combined for 318 points and the tenth place finish. Dartmouth finished just ahead of ODU with 309 points and the Lady Monarchs edged URI, who posted 319 points.
The nationally ranked Lady Monarchs will head to the conference championship this weekend, looking for a trip to the ICSA Women's Championship.
