Lee Named To All CAA Squad, Adams Named All-Academic

RICHMOND, VA.--Old Dominion University's Gerald Lee (6-10, 250, Jr, Uusikaupunki, Finland) has been named first team All-CAA by The league's coaches, media and Sports Information Directors. Monarch senior forward Jonathan Adams (6-6, Ringgold, GA.) repeated on the leaguesAll-Academic squad with a second team selection. Lee also garnered honors on the first team All-NABC District 10 squad as selected by members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Lee is now eligible for the State Farm Coaches Division I All-American team which will be announced April 4th.

Lee led the Monarchs in scoring with a 15.7 point per game average. He averaged 5.6 rebounds pergame as well. Lee ranked among the CAA's top-10 in scoring, field goal percentage (.567), free throw percentage (.792).

Lee scored double figures in 25 of 27 games this year and at one stretch had the CAA's longeststreak of 18 straight. He scored a career high tying 26 points against Bucknell and Liberty. His threedouble-doubles this year were against VCU, Towson and Drexel. In all, Lee has six career double-doubles.

Lee reached the 1,000 career point mark on Feb. 21 in ODU's ESPNU bracketbuster's win overLiberty. He now has 1,017 career points which ties him for 40th on the school's all-time scoring listwith former Monarch standout Cal Bowdler ('99). Lee was a second team All-CAA selection last year.

Jonathan Adams is now a three-time CAA All-Academic selection. The senior carries a 3.2 grade pointaverage in psychology. Adams averages 5.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Adams hit game winning three-pointers in ODU's victories over Charlotte and William and Mary. He also hit a big trey to tie the Northeastern game which sent it to overtime, and ODU won, 57-54.

The Monarchs have won 20 or more games four of the last five years under head coach Blaine Taylor.ODU tied for third with Northeastern in the regular season, and will be the fourth seed in this weekend's event. The Monarchs will play the winner of the UNC Wilmington-Hofstra game on Saturdayat 2:30 p.m.
