BOSTON (AP) - Gerald Lee scored 17 points to help Old Dominion secure a 57-54 overtime win over Northeastern on Saturday night.
The game was timed at 54 when Jonathan Adams hit two free throws with 43.8 seconds remaining to give the Monarchs (20-9, 12-6 Colonial Athletic Association) a two-point edge. After a defensive stop, Lee added a free throw to provide the winning margin.
Nkem Ojougboh led the Huskies (18-11, 12-6 CAA) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Chaisson Allen had eight points, five rebounds and five assists.
The two teams were tied 13 times and exchanged the lead 12 times during the spirited contest.
With the game tied in the final minute of regulation, Matt Janning hit a long three-pointer to give Northeastern a 50-47 advantage with 23.1 seconds left. But Adams answered with a three of his own for the Monarchs with 12.0 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime.
