Sailing Monarchs Pick Up Two Spots on Second Day of Charleston Intersectional

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Monarchs finished in 15th in the first event of the spring season, picking up two spots on the second day in Charleston, South Carolina. ODU totaled 301 points in 12 completed races at the Charleston Spring Intersectional, finishing just two points behind Wisconsin for 14th place. Junior Thomas O'Bryan skippered the B division boat to 14th place with crew Arianna Baker and Miles Martschink.

In A division, junior skipper Katrina Williams finished 16th with crew Rachel Pokorny and Martschink. The Monarch sailors posted 159 points, just four back of a 14th place finish in A division. O'Bryan sailed B division with Baker and Martschink, posting 142 points for a 14th place effort.

Combined, the team scored a 301 point regatta, good for 15th place. The Monarchs were ranked 11th in the nation coming into the spring season opener.
