Monarchs Play At William and Mary Monday Night

NORFOLK, VA--The ODU Monarchs (8-4/1-1-) return to CAA play Monday night when theyTake on the Tribe of William and Mary (5-7/0-2) in a 7 p.m. game in Kaplan Arena at William and Mary Hall. This will be ODU's second in a stretch of five games in 11 days.

The Monarchs had their seven-game winning streak snapped by Georgia State Saturday,55-54.

Through 12 games Gerald Lee continues to lead ODU in scoring at 15.0, field goal percentage at .617 and free throw percentage at .868. Lee ranks ninth in the CAA in scoring, first in field goal percentage and second behind William and Mary Schneider in free throw percentage.

Sophomore Ben Finney is second on the team in scoring at 10.4 points per game and leads the squad in rebounding at 6.8. Finney has grabbed six or more rebounds in six the his last seven games. He ranks sixth in the CAA in rebounding.

Sophomore guard Darius James is third on the team in scoring at 8.9 points and leads the Squad in assists at 4.0 which ranks him seventh in the CAA. He ranks third in the CAA in assists/turnover ratio at 2.0. Schneider leads the league in that category at 2.8.

ODU leads the series, 57-16, but the Tribe won two of three games last year. W&M defeated ODU in the Constant Center, 70-61 and in the CAA tournament, 63-60. The Monarchs won their fourth straight game in Williamsburg, 72-59.

The Tribe will be led by Danny Sumner who averages 17.7 points and 5.0 rebound per game. David Schneider is second at 13.9 points per game. Both are the Tribes top three-point shooters As Sumner has 28 made and Schneider 34. That's 62 of William and Mary's 89 team treys. Schneider ranks second in the CAA with 3.1 treys madeper game.

After tonight's game, ODU returns home to play James Madison Wednesday at 7 p.m. then travel to Fairfax to play at George Mason at 2 p.m. on Saturday before returning to ODU to host Georgia State on Jan. 13 in a 9 p.m. ESPNU contest.
