Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion University men's tennis team cruised to a tripleheader sweep on Saturday, as the Monarchs defeated George Washington (6-1), Liberty (7-0) and Norfolk State (7-0).
Against GWU, the Monarchs won the doubles point and then proceeded to capture five of six singles matches, all coming in straight sets. Arya Vayghan earned the only point for the Colonials with his 6-2, 7-5 win over Old Dominion's Krzysztof Muzalewski at No. 6.
In the second contest of the day, Liberty opened up with an 8-7 (1) win in No. 1 doubles, before the Monarchs rallied to win at No. 2 and No. 3 to win the double point. In singles action, ODU won all six matches, four coming in straight sets.
ODU closed out the day by blanking Norfolk State 7-0, behind 6-0, 6-0 singles victories by Aleksandr Seleznev and Alex Funkhouser.
