NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Gerald Lee scored 12 points to extend the Colonial Athletic Association's longest double-digit scoring streak to 17 straight games as Old Dominion avenged an earlier loss to Georgia State with a 73-56 victory Tuesday night.
The Panthers (4-13, 2-4) edged Old Dominion (10-6, 3-3) in the teams' first meeting, 55-54, in Atlanta on Jan. 3.
Marsharee Neely led the Monarchs with 13 points, while Trian Iliadis added 11. Sophomore point guard Darius James had seven points and nine assists.
The Monarchs led 36-34 at halftime, but the Panthers didn't score for the first 4:46 of the second half as a 12-0 run put Old Dominion up by 14 with 16:25 to play. The lead grew to 17 less than two minutes later.
Georgia State closed within 10 at 54-44 with 12:51 left, but could get no closer. Joe Dukes led the Panthers with 21 points and Trae Goldston had 14.
ODU shot a season best .617 from the floor, while Georgia State hit .423. ThePanthers shot .565 in the first half, but only .310 in the second.
ODU outrebounded the Panthers, 28-24 as Frank Hassell hauled down a game highsix boards followed by Gerald Lee and Darius James with five each.
James also dished out a career high nine assists on the night. Hassell scoredseven points with two assists and four blocked shots, while freshman Marquelde Lancey dished out a career high four assists and came up with two steals.
ODU returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Richmond to play atVCU in a 4 p.m. contest.
