ATLANTA (AP) -Trae Goldston hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left to lift Georgia State to a 55-54 win against Old Dominion on Saturday. The loss ended ODU'sseven-game winning streak.

Old Dominion whittled down an 11-point halftime deficit, and the Monarchs (8-4, 1-1 Colonial Athletic Association) eventually took the lead 54-52 with 37 seconds left in the game when Kent Bazemore capped a late 9-0 run with a jumper.

That set up Goldston's eventual game-winner, and Jonathan Adams missed a 3-pointer in the game's final seconds to seal the win for the Panthers.

Georgia State (4-9, 2-0) was led by Xavier Hansbro and Joe Dukes, who each scored 11.

Old Dominion got 12 points from Gerald Lee and 11 from Ben Finney. Georgia State led by as many as 17, 46-29 with 13:47 left in the game,but the Monarchs rallied for an 11-0 run to cuty it to seven with 10:37 left in thegame.

It was the second win for Georgia State over Old Dominion, and the first since 1978.

ODU dominated the boards, 40-28 as Frank Hassell hauled down eight boardsandBen Finney six. Trey Hampton led GSU with eight rebounds. Hassell also blockedtwo shots, and came up with two steals, while Finney also had two steals.

The Monarchs committed 13 turnovers for the game, but 12 were committed in the firsthalf. GSU scored 12 firsthalf points off ODU turnovers. The Panthers hit six ofseven free throws,while ODU was nine of 16 from the line.

The Monarchs return to action when they travel to Williamsburg to take on William and Mary on Monday night. This will be ODU's second game of five games in 11 days.
