NORFOLK, Va. -- ODU men's soccer senior midfielder Trevor Banks (Madison, Wisc./Madison Memorial) was named to the Second Team All-South Atlantic Region team this week, by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The team captain for the Monarchs in his final year was honored for the second time in his career, after a first team selection in 2007.
Banks was also selected to attend the 2009 adidas MLS Player Combine last week, becoming the ninth Monarch in six years to be invited.
As a team captain this year, Banks scored four goals and added three assists for 11 points. He took a team-high 40 shots and was also integral on the defensive side of the ball. Banks played virtually every position on the field for head coach Alan Dawson and was an impact player in the midfield.
The senior was named a First Team All-CAA Midfielder for the second straight year and concluded his career with 20 career goals, 11 assists and 51 points, ranking him among the top in ODU history.
