RICHMOND, Va. - ODU senior forward Katie Watson was named to the All-CAA First Team for the second time in her career and six other Lady Monarchs earned postseason honors when the Colonial Athletic Association released the women's soccer All-Conference teams today. Watson was third in the conference in scoring (31 pts), tied for third in goals (12) and tied for fifth in assists (7).

Watson led the team in every offensive category and scored a career-high tying 33 points this season. She helped lead ODU to its best offensive season in school history, breaking team marks for goals, assists and points in a single season. She climbed the career charts as an individual as well, ranking fourth all-time in points (75), sixth all-time in goals (26), and second all-time in assists (23).

Named to the All-CAA Second Team were senior defensive leader Elizabeth Brewster and senior goalkeeper Lauren Tupman. The ODU defense was statistically the best in the league this year, allowing a school-record low goals against average (0.77) and setting a new high in shutouts with 11. Brewster anchored the backline that allowed just 17 goals this season, also a new school record. In goal, Tupman posted nine solo shutouts to lead the league and never saw her goals against average rise above 1.00 this season.

Senior forward Shavon Knight earned All-Conference honors as a member of the Third Team. She, with Watson, led the league's top offensive team with her second 25 point season. She posted ODU's second-highest total of assists in a season with 10, second only to Jen Henley's 11 in 2000. She also scored nine goals giving her 28 points on the season, ranking sixth in the league. Knight climbed all the way to third all-time on the points list with 84, just two shy of Laura Beeman for second all-time. She's also third in career assists (18) and tied for third in career goals (33).

Joining Knight on the Third Team is sophomore midfielder Ashley Kukura. Kukura had a solid offensive season, posting five goals and four assists for 14 total points. She controlled the middle of the field with 19 starts this year, leading all midfielders in minutes.

Also honored by the conference were a pair of freshmen for head coach Joe Pereira, Lisa Bernardini and Victoria Johnson. Both were named to the All-Rookie squad, giving ODU at least one honoree in each of the last four seasons.

Bernardini was a force defensively for the Lady Monarchs, and extremely consistent as she started in 19 games and played more minutes than all but one ODU player. She helped lead the defense to a strong season that included holding opponents to just three goals in 10 home games this season.

Johnson was one of three Lady Monarchs with 20 or more points, marking the first time in school history a trio has done so. In 19 starts, Johnson posted nine goals and seven assists for 25 points, giving her the second best offensive campaign by a freshman in ODU history. She was second on the team in scoring in conference play, posting 13 of her 25 points against league opponents.

ODU's record is 14-4-2 including a 7-3-2 CAA mark.
