ODU Hosts George Mason In Regular Season Finale Friday Night

NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Soccer Monarchs (9-6-2/6-3-1) host the George Mason Patriots (9-5-2/5-4-1) in the final game of the regular season at 7 p.m. Friday night at the ODU Soccer Complex. This will be the final regular season home match for seniorsTrevor Banks, Daniel Haywood and Ollie Lutton.

Sophomore forward Steffen Rabben (Valdres, Norway) was named CAA Rookie of the Weekfor the second time this season. Rabben scored two goals in ODU's 2-1 victoryat Drexel.

Rabben leads the Monarchs in scoring with 16 points based on seven goals and twoassists. He ranks third in the CAA in total points and is tied for second in goalsscored.

The Monarchs are just two points behind CAA leader UNC Wilmington and three pointsahead of William and Mary, George Mason and Northeastern.

GMU leads the all time series 15-13-1 but ODU has won the last four meetings between the two schools including a 2-1 decision last season in Fairfax. The Patriots defeated UNCW and Drexel last week. Kwame Adjeman-Pambone was named theCAA Player of the Week after scoreing a goal and two assists in those two games.

CAA games this week include northeastern at VCU and Drexel at William and Maryon Nov. 6. On Nov. 7, JMU is at Towson, Delaware at Georgia State and Hofstra isat UNCW.

ODU will earn their seed based on the following situations:

*For Old Dominion to win regular season title, get first round bye and host CAA Tournament:ODU must win against George Mason AND Hofstra must tie or win against UNC Wilmington

*For Old Dominion to finish 2nd and get first round bye:ODU ties against George Mason-or-ODU wins against George Mason AND UNCW wins against Hofstra

*For Old Dominion to finish 3rd and host quarterfinal game Tuesday, November 11:ODU loses to George Mason AND William & Mary ties or loses to Drexel

*For Old Dominion to finish 4th and host quarterfinal game Tuesday, November 11:ODU loses to George Mason AND William & Mary wins against Drexel

*ODU can not finish any lower than 4th in the league.

The CAA tournament begins on Tuesday November 11th with the higher seeds hosting quarterfinal action.
