AUSTIN, Texas -- The No. 25/20 Old Dominion women's basketball team made it two-in-a-row with a 70-58 victory over Dayton in the second day of the World Vision Classic hosted by the University of Texas.

Leading by as many 13 in the first half, the Flyers managed to go ahead by three midway through the second half. The Lady Monarchs, however, would go on to outscore Dayton 27-18 the rest of the way behind an 11-point, nine rebound second half by senior Tiffany Green (Chesapeake, Va.). Green would go on to record her 18th career double-double finishing the night with 15 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.

Junior Jessica Canady (Williamsburg, Va.) led the Lady Monarchs with 23 points, while sophomore Jasmine Parker (Norfolk, Va.) added in 15 going 3-of-6 from downtown.

Dayton's duo of Kristin Daugherty and Justine Raterman accounted for all but 10 of the Flyers points combining for 48 points. Raterman, a freshman, posted a double-double with a game-high 27 points and 15 boards, while Daugherty, the lone returning starter of last year's WNIT squad, added in 21.

Twice Parker gave Old Dominion a 13-point edge in the first half on her three-point prowess. The Lady Monarchs held a 27-14 advantage with 5:06 remaining before halftime, but soon watched its 13-point lead shrink. Dayton used a 15-5 run to close the half and leave the Lady Monarchs with a three-point, 32-29, halftime lead.

The Flyers took its first lead of the game with 13:18 to go on Daugherty three-pointer, 43-30. Over the next five minutes, the game would see two ties and six lead changes before a Green put back and free throw, after being fouled at the basket, returned the lead for good to the Lady Monarchs. With Old Dominion ahead 51-50 following Green's free throw and 8:54 left in the game, the Lady Monarchs rattled off seven unanswered points and would not allow Dayton any closer than five.

Old Dominion closes out action at the World Vision Classic Monday night against #13/13 Texas at 8:00 p.m. (EST). The Longhorns are the first of five teams in the AP and ESPN/USA Today Poll the Lady Monarchs will face this season. Live video of the game is available at www.TexasSports.com.
