ODU Will Be Fourth Seed In CAA Tournanent After Loss To Mason

NORFOLK, VA--George Mason (10-6-2/6-4-1) defeated the Monarchs of Old Dominion (9-7-2/6-4-1), 3-1 Friday night in a ColonialAthletic Association match. The Monarchs will now be the number four seed in the CAA Tournament and will host NortheasternTuesday night at 7 pm. at the ODU Soccer Complex. ODU controlled its own fate and had the Monarchs won tonight, they would have been the top seedin the upcoming CAA tournament as UNC Wilmington lost tonight to Hofstra in overtime.

Mason took a 1-0 halftime lead on a first half goal from Ryan Gracia. The Patriots then scored two second half goals within five minutes of eachOther to take a 3-0 lead. Kwame Adjeman-Pambone scored on an assist from Axel Levry, then Richard Edgar scored the third and finalGoal for the Patriots.

The Monarchs broke into the scoring column with a little less than three minutes left as Adrian LeRoy (Ontario, Canada) scored on an assist from seniorTrevor Banks(Madison, WI.).

ODU and Mason were even on shots at 12. Mason led with five shots on goals to ODU's four. Patriot Keeper Sean Kelley came up with three saves on the night, while ODU's BrennanKirkpatrick had two saves. It was the final regular season home match for seniors Trevor Banks, Ollie Lutton (Shenley, England) and DanielHaywood (Spaldwick, England).
