Finney and Lee Lead Monarchs In Blue-White Scrimmage

NORFOLK, VA-- Sophomore guard-forward Ben Finney (Portsmouth, VA.) scored 18 points and hauled down seven boards and junior center Gerald Lee ( Uusikaupunki, Finland)scored 17 points along with seven rebounds to lead the Monarchs in the annualBlue-White exhibition game played at the Constant Center Sunday afternoon.

A total of five Monarchs scored in double figures. Joining Finney and Lee werered-shirt freshman Kent Bazemore (Kelford, NC.) with 12 points and eight rebounds;junior guard Marsharee Neely (Greensboro, NC.) with 10 points, two steals and twoassists; and 6-8 red-shirt sophomore forward Keyon Carter (Riviera Beach, Fl.)with 11 points and a team high 13 rebounds.

Monarch newcomers Nick Wright (Suffolk, Va.) scored nine points with two blockedshots and Chris Cooper (Woodbridge, Va.) added eight points and eight rebounds.

Senior forward Jonathan Adams (Ringgold, GA.) led the tam with three steals, whileWright, Finney and Frank Hassell (Chesapeake, Va.) each had two blocked shots.

Cooper was four-for-five from the floor, Wright was three-for-five, and Adams wasthree-for-six from the field. Gerald Lee was seven-for-eight from the free throwline and Kent Bazemore was six-for-eight.

Ben Finney connected on three of six treys and Etoile Imama (Montreal, Canada)hit on two of three from beyond the arc.

The Monarchs return to action on Tuesday night, Nov. 4th when they play Chowan inan exhibtion game at the Constant Center.
