NORFOLK, Va. -- The ODU women's soccer team (8-2-0/1-1-0) hit the road for two CAA games this weekend, as they face off against Drexel (5-5-0/0-2-0) at 7:00 pm on Friday night and against Delaware (4-4-1/1-1-0) at 1:00 pm on Sunday. ODU will look to bounce back after two straight road losses, including a 2-1 setback last weekend to UNC Wilmington. The team will lean on their conference best points per game (8.7) and goals against average (0.69) as they enter the second weekend of conference action.

The team opens the weekend with a game against the Drexel Dragons, to whom Old Dominion has never lost. The Lady Monarchs boast a 6-0 all-time advantage over the Dragons, including four straight shutouts dating back to 2004.

The Philadelphia team is led by seniors Kaitlin Bond in goal and Aleka Yiantsos in the midfield. The veteran keeper has played all but 57:57 between the pipes for the Dragons this season, posting a 1.14 goals against average with two shutouts. Yiantsos is tied for the team-lead in points with 15, scoring six goals and three assists on the season.

Sunday, the Lady Monarchs will travel to face the Fightin' Blue Hens of Delaware. The Blue Hens have had Old Dominion's number in the all-time series with an all-time 0-7-1 advantage.

The Blue Hens are led by senior goalkeeper Annie Bevan, who has posted the second best goals against average in the league, at 1.00 and the top save percentage, at .838. Offensively, sophomore Amy Pickard and senior Alli D'Amico have each scored three goals for the Blue Hens to lead the way.

ODU will look to rebound this weekend in CAA play after suffering a loss to UNC Wilmington last Sunday. The Lady Monarchs lead the league in scoring and in scoring defense, as well as being ranked 9th in the nation in scoring and among the top 50 in scoring defense. Leading the way offensively are seniors Shavon Knight (7g, 5a) and Katie Watson (7g, 3a), with freshman Victoria Johnson (5g, 5a). Senior Lauren Tupman has played all but one half in the goal for ODU, posting five shutouts and a 0.72 goals against average.
