ODU Junior in 10th at MAISA Championship After Day One

KING'S POINT, N.Y. -- Old Dominion junior Kyle Rogachenko sailed to a 10th place finish after eight completed races on the first day of the Carl van Duyne Trophy Regatta. The top four finishers will earn a trip to the ICSA Singlehanded National Championship, and Rogachenko, with 75 points, is just 18 points back of the qualifying position. The Monarch sailor grabbed two top five finishes on the first day.

Rogachenko grabbed a day-high third place finish in the sixth race of the day, and also had two sixes and one fifth place effort on the first day. His 75 points is just eight points back of the top six and 18 behind the top four slots.

The Carl van Duyne Trophy is the MAISA Conference Championship for the men's singlehanded event.
