NORFOLK, VA-- The Old Dominion University Soccer Monarchs (5-4-1/2-1) host theTigers of Towson University (6-3/2-1) Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the ODU SoccerComplex. The same two teams met in last years CAA Finals.
Towson is led in scoring by red-shirt freshman forward Liam Maloney with fourgoals,three assists and 11 points, followed by junior forward Tommy Appel-Schumacherwith four goals, one assist for nine total points. In the net, John Steele has a0.77 goals against average. He leads the CAA in save percentage at .881.
The Monarchs are again led in scoring by sophomore T. J. Beaulieu with four goals and four assists for 12 points. Junior Steffen Rabben is second with four goals andeight points followed by senior Trevor Banks with three goals and one assist for seven points.
ODU and Towson have met 14 times with ODU holding a 7-5-2 edge. Last year,Towsondefeated ODU, 1-0 in the regular season match, but the Monarchs won the CAA Finalson penalty kicks to advance to their sixth straight NCAA Tournament.
