WILMINGTON, NC--Bobby Foglesong's (Fredericksburg, VA.) goal with 19 minutes left in the match lifted the Monarchs of Old Dominion (5-3-1/2-0) to a 1-0 win against the Seahawks of UNCWilmington (4-6/1-1) Saturday night in a Colonial Athletic Association match. ODU haswon three straight and five of their last six.
The two teams battled to a 0-0 halftime score, but with 18:39 left in the match sophomore T.JBeaulieu (Apex, NC. ) hit Foglesong, a junior midfielder with a short cross into the box for the game winner.
ODU and UNCW were even on shots at seven each while the Monarchs got the edge in shots ongoal at 5-3. Five different Monarchs took shots on goal, while Devan Carroll took two of UNCW'sthree shots on goal.
Freshmen goalkeeper Michael Roura (Middletown, NJ.) picked up his second straight shutout and came up with three saves, while UNCW's Brock Duckworth had four saves.
The goal was Foglesong's first of the year while Beaulieu, a forward leads the team with four goals and four assists and 12 total points which ranks him second in the CAA.
ODU returns to action when they host William and Mary at 7 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.
