NEWARK, DE--Trevor Banks(Madison, WI.) , Dylan Montambo (Chesapeake, VA.) , Steffen Rabben (Valdres, Norway) ,and Roberto Squeglia(Schenectady, NY. ) eachscored a goal to lead the Monarchs of Old Dominion (4-3-1/1-0) to a 4-0 Colonial AthleticAssociation win over the University of Delaware (1-4-2/0-1) Friday evening.
Pre-season co-CAA Player of the Year Trevor Banks, put ODU on the board first with a penalty kick in the first 10 minutes of action. Dylan Montambo then got a pass from Haris Cekic and shot it in form 18 yards out to put ODU up 2-0. With less than a minute left in the first half, Steffen Rabben, the CAA Co-Rookie of the Week scored after getting a pass from Nane Joseph.
In the second half Robert Squeglia finished the Monarch scoring with a goal from inside thesix.
Shots were even at ten, but ODU out shot the Fighting Blue Hens 8-5 in shots on goal. FreshmanKeeper Michael picked up the shutout along with five saves for ODU. Jon Scheer led UD withThree shot attempts, while Rabben led ODU with three.
The Monarchs return to action on Oct. 4 when they travel to UNC Wilmington.
