NORFOLK, VA-- The defending CAA Champion ODU Soccer Monarchs host American University in an exhibition match Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. in the ODUSoccer Stadium.
The Monarchs return eight starters from last year's squad that reached the NCAAround of 16 for the second straight year. Leading the Monarch returnees areAll-CAA selections Trevor Banks (Sr, MF, 6 gls, 3 ast), Evan Newton (Jr., GK, 0.63GAA, 11 shutouts), Ambane Emmanuel (jr. F, 5 gls,), T.J. Beaulieu (So.,F, 3 gls) and Joseph Nane (Sr, MF, 2gls, 3 ast.).
American will be led by sophomore forward Daniel Shannon (3gls, 2 ast), as wellas All-Patiot League defenders Cameron Petty and Karsten Smith.
After Wednesday's match, the Monarchs will travel to the University of Virginiafor an exhibition on Aug. 23 at 7.p.m.
